Team GEO Kentucky

As we get ready for classes to start for our second year, we are immensely grateful to our GEO board in Kentucky! This group of volunteers formed in Lexington, KY to help our co-founders, Fr. Miguel Alvizures and Forrest Day, pursue their dream of opening an English-immersion school in rural Joya Honda, Guatemala. Fr. Miguel and Forrest met in Lexington, after being connected through mutual acquaintances. Fr. Miguel was living in Lexington and working at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary church, and Forrest had visited Guatemala numerous times with a non-profit health organization, COTA (Children of the Americas).

After the two met and established their dream for a school, they recruited friends, family, church members, and others to be a part of their team. If not for these motivated, passionate, and hard-working individuals, this school would not be possible. Anyone interested in getting involved has the opportunity to work or volunteer with us. Board meetings are monthly and take place in Lexington, KY.
