Forrest Day- International Chairman Forrest Day has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Leadership from Sullivan University. He served in the U.S. Army for four years attaining the rank of Sergeant. He has coached Special Needs football, basketball, and baseball through the YMCA of Central Kentucky for the past 13 years. Forrest also served two terms as a Church Elder at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Forrest was an original founder of TeamGEOKY.
Father Miguel Alvizures- President, Guatemala Father Miguel is a Catholic Priest and native Guatemalan. He served at St. Leo's in Versailles, KY. He conceived the idea for the school and brought others in to make his vision a reality. Eventually wants to expand to 7th-12th grades to serve the local children and improve their future . . After talking to educators, business leaders, and entrepreneurs a consensus was formed that English language was the fastest path out of widespread poverty.
Reina Slaymaker- Interim President, USA ...is in her second-year teaching English at Colegio la Montañita/The Little Mountain School in Joya Honda, Guatemala through Guatemalan Educational Outreach (GEO). Before moving to Guatemala in 2018 she taught English at a preschool in Istanbul, Turkey after earning her bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration from College of Charleston. In December 2019 she will begin her six-month term as Interim president.
Anna Tussey- Chairman of the Board, United States Anna has her bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University where she studied Spanish and Sociology. She has her master’s degree in American Studies from Kennesaw State University and she is currently working towards her Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She teaches ESOL at an elementary school in Louisville, Kentucky. Anna joined GEO in the Fall of 2018 after seeing the work of a childhood classmate and GEO English teacher, Reina.
